Xiaomi Redmi Note goes official with 5.5" display

Xiaomi has officially announced the successor of Redmi - Redmi Note. The Redmi Note has a larger 5.5" IPS display but with the same 720p resolution.


The phablet comes with two hardware configurations, one is powered by 1.4 GHz octa-core processor with 1 GB of RAM, while another one is powered by 1.7 GHz octa-core processor with 2 GB of RAM. Both versions are using MediaTek MT6592 chipset.


 

The phablet features a 13 MP camera with LED flash and there's a 5 MP front-facing shooter too. It has 8 GB internal storage with microSD card slot for further memory expansion.

Juicing up the device is a 3,200 mAh battery and it is running on MIUI v5 based Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The Redmi Note is a dual-SIM device with with TD-SCDMA/HSPA support on the first SIM slot and GSM/EDGE on the second SIM slot.

Meanwhile, the lower specs configuration Redmi Note is priced at CNY 799 (around RM 423) and the higher specs configuration Redmi Note is priced at CNY 999 (around RM 530).

We expected to see Xiaomi products next month.
