Unboxing
The Asus MeMO Pad HD 10 comes with simple retail packaging. Nothing much in the retail package, there's a MeMO Pad HD 10, AC adapter, microUSB cable and a stand for the tablet.

Design
The MeMO Pad HD 10 packs the same design language as its sibling. Our unit is the pink version and it is quite bright and attractive.

The front (left) and back (right)

The volume buttons and microUSB port are at the left side (left), the power button is located on top the slate (right)

The microSD slot and 3.5 mm are at the right side (left), the 2 MP camera is at the back (right)

The dual speakers with SonicMaster tech is at the back (left, center), the 1.2 MP front facer is on top the display (right)

The design is quite normal for a tablet, but it is not bad at all as we have no issue while handling it.

Display
The 10.1" display uses IPS LCD unit with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution at 149 ppi of pixel density.

Although the display is sharp enough but it lacks of contrast and is quite reflective, which produces bad viewing angle.

Performance
Performance wise, it is powered by 1.6 GHz quad-core Rockchip RK101 processor with 1 GB of RAM.

It scores 5,485 on Quadrant Standard and 19,082 on AnTuTu benchmark, which is even slower than the older generation processor.

Due to the limitation of processing power, the slate cannot handle high graphic games well like Real Racing 3 but playing mini game is not a problem.

Software
The slate runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Asus custom user interface. The user interface looks identical to Pure Google UI but it comes with some additional features.

It has those familiar features like floating apps or widgets, systembar lock and customizable Quick Settings.

Battery
The slate packs a 5,070 mAh battery with promised 9.5 hours of use time. The battery life is average and we found that the charging speed is quite slow even we use the provided charger from Asus.

Final Thought
The MeMO Pad HD 10 is a good budget tablet if you don't mind the bad display. However the Google Nexus 7 2013 or the Apple iPad mini would be a better option.

Pros
- Large display with sharp text
- Comes with tablet stand

Cons
- Unimpressive display
- Unimpressive performance
