HTC-made Google Nexus 9 announced

The speculation is over, Google has announced its latest tablet - the HTC-made Google Nexus 9. The newest tablet from the search giant runs on the new Android 5.0, which has just been announced to be named Lollipop. The Nexus 9 has a 8.9'' IPS LCD with the unusual aspect ratio 4:3 for an Android of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels.


With a thickness of 7.9 mm , the Nexus 9 will be powered by the Nvidia Tegra K1 chip with a 2.3 GHz CPU, the really powerful Kepler DX1 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. The available internal storage options are in 16 GB or 32 GB but it does not have an expansion slot for external memory.

The Google Nexus 9's HTC roots can be seen BoomSound stereo speakers. For all you photography enthusiasts, the Nexus 9 has you covered with an 8 MP rear camera and a 1.6 MP front-facing camera.

  

Fitted with a 6,700 mAh battery by Google, there have been no official estimates from Google on the tablet's battery life however.

Those preferring a more hands on approach to their work would appreciate the optional keyboard Google revealed alongside the tablet. Said keyboard magnetically attaches to the back of the Nexus 9 and should help boost productivity.


The Google Nexus 9 will be available to be pre-ordered starting from the 17th of October, with it actually hitting the shelves on the 3rd of November. The tablet will be available in Indigo Black, Lunar White and Sand. With all that said and done, the price of the Google Nexus 9 has yet to be confirmed.
