Unfortunately, the variant that will be available in Malaysia is the 1 GB RAM variant, which means the internal storage of the Redmi 2 is only 8 GB. Thankfully, you can expand the storage via Micro SD card up to 32 GB.
The Redmi 2 has an improved 4.7" IPS display with HD resolution. The display is fully laminated and is manufactured by Sharp/AUO.
Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor. The device supports 4G dual SIM, dual standby too. Juicing up the device is a 2,200 mAh removable battery which support quick charging.
The Redmi 2 is running on MIUI 6 based on Android 4.4 KitKat. It will be priced at RM 449 and available in white color only, expect more back covers with different colors will be available for purchase soon.
