OnePlus One launching in Malaysia on 22nd April

It's finally happening! OnePlus is finally getting ready to launch the One in Malaysia. Late better than never!


In case you don't know about the OnePlus One, it is claimed as flagship killer of 2014. The device sports a 5.5" Full HD display, 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 13 MP Sony IMX214 camera and running on CyanogenMod 11S out of box. The company recently had released its custom Android ROM - OxygenOS, and CyanogenMod 12 is now available to the One too.

Meanwhile, there There will be a fan gathering on April 24th, more details will be coming up from its official Facebook page. You are able to head over OnePlus Malaysia official website and follow the countdown to the launch.

Additionally, the OnePlus One will be available in Maxis exclusively on 22nd April with Maxis One Plan. More details will be coming up soon.

OnePlus OxygenOS now available for download

After Cyanogen has turned their back to OnePlus, the company is working hard to develop a brand new ROM for the One. The time has come, OnePlus OxygenOS is now finally available for download.


So what's OxygenOS? OxygenOS is a ROM for the OnePlus One based on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. It's basically same as pure Google experience but with additional features. You can check out the top features of the OxygenOS in the video below.

Brightstar likely to distribute OnePlus One in Malaysia

The OnePlus One is said to be available by end of 2014, however thing doesn't go as planned. And now, we finally get to know more about the 2014 flagship killer. It seems that Brightstar Malaysia will be the official distributor of OnePlus.


The best solution to bring in the device as soon as possible is to appoint a local partner. Unlike other countries, OnePlus has chose Brightstar as the official distributor instead of Lazada as the One had just certified under SIRIM.

With Brightstar as their official distributor, the One could be widely available nationwide instead of exclusively available online. Unfortunately, there's no details on its pricing and availability. OnePlus previously has stated that the pricing will stick close to US Dollar, which should be around RM 1,199 for 16 GB and RM 1,299 for 64 GB version.

It's a good news to know that OnePlus is taking action to bring the One to Malaysia. Meanwhile, OnePlus is developing new software, called Oxygen OS. We should be able to know more in coming weeks.

OnePlus One is coming soon to Malaysia officially

Previously OnePlus has held a fan gathering in Malaysia, which is a sign of the company is entering Malaysian market. Well, it's been a long wait, and you have to wait a few weeks more. The One will be available in Malaysia by end of this year.


You won't be waiting for too long as there are just around 7 weeks more till 2014 end, plus the device has already passed through local SIRIM certification. Pricing wise, the OnePlus One is priced at USD $299 and USD $349 for 16 GB and 64 GB respectively. Expect it will be at RM 999 and RM 1,199 for 16 GB and 64 GB respectively when it arrived Malaysia.

So, the One is claimed as flagship killer of 2014, it has a 5.5" Full HD display, 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 13 MP Sony IMX214 camera, and, CyanogenMod 11S based on Android 4.4 KitKat. The One will be receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop update within 90 days of its official release.

OnePlus is entering Malaysian market, having fan gathering this Saturday

Previously OnePlus is looking for GM in Malaysia because the company is planning to bring the One to Malaysian market officially. Now OnePlus Malaysia officially Facebook page is now live and the company is holding a fan gathering this Saturday (November 8th).


The first fan gathering will be held at 1F Coffee Bean SS15 Subang Jaya, you can register it from here.

For your information, OnePlus was founded on December 17th last year, which is exactly a year later our blog were founded. The company has launched its only one device, called the One. The One is claimed as flagship killer. With its 5.5" 1080p JDI display, Snapdragon 801 SoC, 3 GB RAM, 13 MP camera and CyanogenMod 11S, the OnePlus One is definitely a competitive device.

No word on the official launching date of the One, but I'm sure it's not far away from us.

OnePlus 2 will debut on Q2/Q3 2015 with smaller form factor

Just when OnePlus is searching for General Manager for setting up the official store in Malaysia, the company is actually planning to release the successor of the One in either Q2 or Q3 of 2015.


The device will be named as OnePlus 2, and it's unclear that the device will be smaller than its predecessor. The information comes straight from company execs who did an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session over on Reddit.

The upcoming OnePlus 2 will probably use the invite system for a short period time, then we should see pre-orders after that.

OnePlus to bring the One to Malaysian market officially

The OnePlus One has been popular for quite a while since it launched. It has generated tremendous interest in Malaysia, not officially available in Malaysia though. However, it seems that Malaysian will no longer can purchase the One through grey import, but official stock from OnePlus.


OnePlus has announced that they are working hard to add Malaysia to their official list of countries. They are seeking a leader with proven track record in marketing, branding and operations to build and lead a successful OnePlus team in Malaysia.

The OnePlus One was announced two months ago and there's no word on its availability in Malaysia at the moment. Good news, online retailer DirectD is now offering the OnePlus One with limited stock. Bad news, it is grey import device, plus demo set.


For your information, The OnePlus One is yet another device running on CyanogenMod other than Oppo, it runs on CyanogenMod 11S, which is based on Android 4.4 KitKat.
