BlackBerry Z10 officially launched in Malaysia, price at RM 2,188

Are you a BlackBerry fans? Here's a good news for you if you are longing the Blackberry Z10, the BlackBerry Z10 were officially announced yesterday, the price of it are RM 2,188.

To know the spec of it, you can click here for more information of the BlackBerry Z10. The BlackBerry Z10 are running BlackBerry 10 OS, 2 GB of RAM, 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 8 MP camera, 1080p video recording, 4.2" 720p display, etc. It will available in Black and White colours.

Maxis will start its pre-registration for BlackBerry Z10 tomorrow and you can buy this device from Maxis stores starting from 9th March. Celcom and DiGi is being a lot slow here where they will only be launching the device one month later, to be exact, on the 8th of April. We assume that it is probably due to some exclusivity obtained by Maxis. The package offered by Maxis, but Celcom and DiGi is not known yet.

Another good news for BlackBerry users, if you are hoping to upgrade to BalckBerry Z10 from your BlackBerry old phone, there's a trade-in program available for you guys. However, not all BlackBerry models are acceptable and the value of your current phone also depends on what model it is.

Below is a summarised table which shows you the value of eligible BlackBerry devices:
BlackBerry modelTrade-in value (in RM)Top-up amount (in RM)
Curve 85202551933
Curve 93002701918
Bold 90001252063
Bold 97002851903

As for this trade-in program, there are several terms & conditions that you need to follow. Firstly, it is only applicable for the first 3000 units. You must also make sure that your device is working well. Below are the exact criteria :

1) must be able to power on, 2) no damaged LCD screen, 3) no missing keyboard buttons, 4) no liquid damage, 5) no hardware damage

You also need to visit BlackBerry Malaysia’s Facebook page and obtain a trade-in voucher. Once you have got the voucher, you need to print out a hard copy and you can visit any 21 roadshows which will be organized by Brightstar Malaysia and Maxis to upgrade to Z10. Since there is no condition that you must give the full set, you can probably try your luck by giving just the phone.

Unfortunately, there's still no information about availability and price for the BlackBerry Q10. I'll bring more news about it as soon as possible. It was said that the Q10 will be launched by June this year (1st half of 2013) but that tone was not so convincing. BlackBerry also told that there are some bugs found in Q10 which delayed the launch for that device. However, I am pretty sure that those who love the physical QWERTY keyboard on BlackBerry will find the touch screen keyboard on Z10 pretty interesting as well.

How do you feel about it? Excited? Leave a comment.
