New firmware has been certified on the PTCRB website for a number of devices. First of all, the Sony Xperia TX (LT29i) has had firmware version 9.1.A.0.492 certified. This firmware will bring Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean to the device. This firmware is a minimal update to the 9.1.A.0.489 / 9.1.A.0.490 versions that are currently on the Xperia T and Xperia V respectively. Sony already confirmed that the Xperia TX JB update will arrive in March so the timing of this certification makes sense.
The Sony Xperia J has had firmware version 11.2.A.0.21 certified. I can’t tell for certain that this is Jelly Bean, but it appears to use a significantly higher version number versus the current firmware on the handset (11.0.A.7.10).
The appearance of the Sony Xperia E (C1505) on the PTCRB website with firmware version 11.3.A.0.47 also lends some credence to the fact that the Xperia J firmware is indeed JB. The Sony Xperia E will arrive with Android 4.1.2 when it launches in the next few weeks. Therefore everyone know for sure that the 11.3.A.X.XX firmware is JB, there’s a good chance that 11.2.A.X.XX is too. Sony said that the Xperia J will receive the JB update from the end of March.
Lastly, the Sony Xperia tipo (ST21i) has had new Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich certified with version number 11.0.A.4.27. The Sony Xperia tipo dual (ST21i2) has seen firmware version 11.0.A.6.8 certified.
