Samsung is preparing 2 new phablet - Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3, both phablet will be sport a larger display than Galaxy Note II.
Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8
The Galaxy Mega 5.8 codename GT-I9152 will be a high-end DUOS dual-SIM smartphone after the Galaxy Grand. It will be sports a 5.8" qHD (960x540 pixels) TFT display. It will packs a 8MP camera and 2MP front camera. The phone will be powered by 1.4GHz dual-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM. It will having 2,600 mAh battery and the dimensions would be 164×83.8×9.7mm. Expected Galaxy Mega 5.8 will be running on Android 4.1.2/ 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung TouchWiz Nature UX.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3
The Galaxy Mega 6.3 will comes with better specs than Galaxy Mega 5.8. It will sports a 6.3" PLS HD resolution display. It will having the same 8MP camera and 2MP front camera but powered by 1.7GHz dual-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM. Samsung will offer Galaxy Mega 6.3 a 3,200 mAh battery, it is the largest battery capacity of any Samsung smartphone, the dimensions are 88×167.6×7.9mm, which is the same thickness as the Galaxy S4. The device will be running on Android 4.1.2/ 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung TouchWiz Nature UX.
Samsung will also brings 2 versions of Galaxy Mega 6.3 which is codename GT-I9200 3G version and I9205 LTE version. The device will come in black and white colors.

Your idea is great and will benefit the cost conscious a lot, however because of the small circuitry on mobile phones as well as the amount of integration in their components will prevent this from happening. Nice thought though, hopefully someone is listening
