The Galaxy S4 Active is a water and dust resistance smartphone that quite similar to Xperia Z, Xperia ZR and the recently launched Xperia Z Ultra. It is the waterproof version of the original Galaxy S4, so the specs of both devices are quite similar.
The Galaxy S4 Active has the same 5" Full HD display but with TFT LCD display instead of Super AMOLED that's found on Galaxy S4. It is powered by the same 1.9 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 CPU, Adreno 320 GPU and 2 GB of RAM as the Galaxy S4 LTE. The phone has 16 GB internal storage with microSD card slot for further memory expansion via microSD card.
However, the waterproof version Galaxy S4 has downgrade the camera resolution from original 13 MP to 8 MP resolution. Samsung also offers a camera mode which is called Aqua Mode that allow you to use volume button as camera button to shoot photos under water. With its IP67 rating for water and dust resistance certification, you can submerged the phone under 1 metre water level for 30 minutes which is similar to the Xperia Z.
The Galaxy S4 Active is a LTE device, to overcome the LTE power, Samsung has put a 2,600 mAh battery inside the phone. It weighs 153 g and has a 9.1 mm profile, which is much heavier and thicker than the original Galaxy S4.
