The Idol X+ is the successor of the Idol X, it has the same 5" IPS LCD display with 1080p resolution and the device is powered by 2 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 SoC with 2 GB of RAM.
At the back, it has a 13 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. Juicing up the device is a 2,500 mAh battery and it is slightly thicker than its predecessor at 7.9 mm.
The device is perfectly designed side speakers produce louder and quality sound. It will come with JBL earphones in the retail box but only for limited unit. For a limited time, the device is also bundled with a Bluetooth-enabled wristband - BoomBand.
The Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+ is priced at RM 1,299 for 16 GB version, while the 32 GB version is coming soon.
As for the Alcatel OneTouch Alpha, it has a 4.7" 720p IPS LCD display. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM. Other specs include 16 GB non-expandable storage, 13 MP rear camera capable for 1080p video recording, 1.3 MP front-facing camera and a 2,000 mAh battery.
The OneTouch Alpha uses metal case, curves and translucent edges design. The translucent edge can illuminate in various modes such as charging, video, and other notifications. The OneTouch Alpha is running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It is priced at RM 1,099.
Meanwhile, Alcatel OneTouch Malaysia has also confirmed that the Idol X+ is upgradable to Android 4.4 KitKat, no word on the Idol Alpha but we expeccted it will get the same treatment too.
