[IFA 2014] Alcatel OneTouch announces Hero 2, Hero 8, Pop 2 and Pop 8S

Alcatel OneTouch has announced Hero series and Pop series devices at IFA 2014. The Hero 2 and is the latest LTE phablet, while the Pop 2 series devices are more on affordable price tag but also with 4G LTE connectivity. The Hero 8 and Pop 8S are the company's latest 4G LTE-enabled tablets.

The Hero 2 is the successor over last year's Hero phablet. It features the same 6" TFT LCD display with 1080p resolution protected by Dragontail glass and oleophobic coating.

Powering the phablet is a 2 GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6592 processor with 2 GB of RAM. The 16 GB internal storage is expandable via microSD card up to 32 GB.

There's a 13 MP camera at the back of it and the front camera is a 5 MP unit. Both cameras are capable for 1080p video recording.

Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+ and Idol Alpha now available in Malaysia

Alcatel OneTouch Malaysia today has unveiled that the Idol X+ and Idol Alpha are now available in Malaysia.



The Idol X+ is the successor of the Idol X, it has the same 5" IPS LCD display with 1080p resolution and the device is powered by 2 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 SoC with 2 GB of RAM.

At the back, it has a 13 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. Juicing up the device is a 2,500 mAh battery and it is slightly thicker than its predecessor at 7.9 mm.

Back to IFA 2013, Alcatel has announced the OneTouch Idol Alpha and OneTouch Hero. As for the Idol X+, it is the successor of the Idol X and was announced three months ago.

The OneTouch Idol X+ was the first Alcatel device with 2 GHz true octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and 2 GB of RAM. The device has a 5" Full HD display with a slimmer 1.9 mm bezel.

TCL is a company behind the Alcatel smartphones, it has announced that the company will unveil the successor of its flagship - Alcatel Idol X+.

The Alcatel OneTouch Alpha has a 4.7" 720p IPS LCD display. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM. Other specs include 16 GB non-expandable storage, 13 MP rear camera capable for 1080p video recording, 1.3 MP front-facing camera and a 2,000 mAh battery.

Alcatel OneTouch Idol X is finally available in Malaysia, the company today have revealed the price tag has been set as RM 1,099. Also, the device will be available exclusively at Lazada Malaysia for the next two weeks with a slightly reduced price tag of RM 999. The device will only hit other stores nationwide once the exclusivity is over and will be priced at its SRP that we mentioned earlier.
