[CES 2015] Alcatel OneTouch launches the PIXI 3 family

At this year's annual CES conference, Alcatel OneTouch has announced the new generation of its PIXI line of smartphones. This new generation from the fast-growing smartphone brand is offering 3G/4G connectivity and multiple OS platforms.

One of the headlining features of this new incarnation of smartphones from Alcatel is that it's offering 3G/4G LTE connectivity for the 4'', 4.5'' and 5'' variants while offering regular 3G connectivity for the 3.5'' variant. The PIXI 3 family is further said to be easily customizable and has some popular applications pre-loaded. It also is able to support Firefox, Android and Windows Phone.

Sony releases Firefox OS ROM on Xperia E

If you have read my blog yesterday, you'll know that Sony are working on Firefox OS device and it will be launching next year. Today, Sony have released an experimental ROM that running Firefox OS on Xperia E.

In case that you do not know how was the Firefox OS user interface, I have brought a video for you all. Below are the video about Sony Xperia E running on Firefox OS:



Anyway, the ROM is not intended for daily use – there’s no wireless connectivity of any kind as the software has not passed certification and the touchscreen and the microSD card might not work all too well.

Sony are working on Firefox OS device, Xperia Tablet Z will be available worldwide in Q2 [MWC 2013]

Sony has revealed plans for launching a Firefox OS device in 2014. Below are the news about Sony working on Firefox OS device:

25 February 2013, Barcelona, Spain – Telefónica and Sony Mobile Communications (“Sony Mobile”) today reinforced the strength of their commercial partnership in a multi-year agreement that confirms the operator’s ranging support for Sony Mobile’s 2013 Xperia™ Android device portfolio, as well as laying out a joint technical collaboration to explore the development of a handset running Mozilla’s Firefox OS open source mobile platform.

Sony Mobile and Telefónica are long-term partners and Sony Mobile has in the past year steadily grown its portfolio of premium Android-based smartphones available on the Telefónica network, including the Xperia™ T – aka ‘The Bond phone’ and now the acclaimed Xperia™ Zsmartphone and Xperia™ Tablet Z.
