[CES 2015] Alcatel OneTouch unveils the aptly named WATCH

Alcatel has joined in on the recent wearable craze by unveiling the appropriately named WATCH. The new wearable from Alcatel features a very premium and elegant design at an affordable price. In launching its new wearable, Alcatel is sending out a strong message to its competitors that it's more than happy to provide new innovations to its customers at a fraction of the cost. Besides that, Alcatel has smartly designed the WATCH to appeal to those who are interested in it as a fashion accessory somewhat in the vein of a traditional watch.

The WATCH comes packed with sensors which include a heart-rate monitor placed discretely on the underside of the watch face, an accelerometer, gyroscope, altimeter and an e-compass. This enables users to be able to track their sleep cycle, distance covered, steps taken and calories burned. Users can also access their fitness goals on the activity overview.

The WATCH is also able to send the user call and social media notifications when it is connected to a smartphone. Furthermore, it also vibrates to inform the users when they stray too far from their smartphones. With a touch of the WATCH's screen, users are able to play music, remotely take pictures and make their phone ring to locate it.

In terms of connectivity, the WATCH is compatible with the HERO, IDOL and POP series of Alcatel OneTouch phones. It is also able to function with any device running on Android 4.3 and above as well as iOS 7 or above via Bluetooth. The wearable is dust and water-resistant and is said to have a long battery life. The WATCH is available in spotty dark red/volcano black, feminine all-white,classic chrome/dark gray and elegant metal-white.
