The LG Optimus G has been stuck on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for some time now, it launched in Malaysia with Android 4.1 out of box and LG hasn't rolled out any major update for the device anymore.
It seems that the device will no longer stuck on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, LG will update the device to Android 4.4 KitKat soon this summer (June - August).
LG hasn't released any specifics regarding the improvements that will come to the Optimus G after through this update. We expected the performance would be same as its successor but with some features absent.
There's no word whether the Optimus G and Optimus G Pro received the Knock Code feature. Meanwhile, the LG G2 and G Flex will be getting the Knock Code update soon.
Details of availability of the Knock Code upgrade will be announced locally in the weeks ahead.
