The HTC One (M8) was announced last month and today we get to confirm that the device will be available in Malaysia on May 8th.
The device sports a 5" display with 1080p resolution at 440 ppi and powering it is a Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz (for Asian markets) with 2 GB of RAM. The device has 16 GB and 32 GB internal storage and it is expandable via microSD card up to 128 GB.
The One (M8) sports a unibody made of 90% metal as opposed to 70% for its predecessor. As usual the device has the same dual frontal stereo speakers, BoomSound, as the 2013's One but it does not support Beats Audio music enhancement.
At the back it has Duo Camera with UltraPixel tech. The sensor is the same 4 MP BSI one with giant 2µm pixels, but there's a new imaging processor attached and HTC has ditched the optical image stabilization tech. The second camera is actually a depth sensor. It allows the One to perform all sorts of neat tricks especially in post processing, such as blurring backgrounds or changing the focus point just like Nokia Refocus app. It has also 5 MP front-facing shooter too.
Juicing up the device is a 2,600 mAh battery with the promised of 20 hours talk time. It also comes with Extreme power saving mode, which maximise the standby time up to 40 days.
So how about the pricing? The One (M8) will carry the same price tag as the Galaxy S5 and Xperia Z2 - RM 2,399.
