Samsung has just officially announced the mini version of the Galaxy S5. The Samsung Galaxy S5 mini is basically similar to its bigger brother but with smaller size and lower specifications.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 mini has a 4.5" HD Super AMOLED display, which is same size as the HTC One mini 2. Powering it is a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with 1.5 GB of RAM. The 16 GB internal storage can be expanded via microSD card up to 64 GB.
The device has an 8 MP camera that is capable for 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second. There's a 2.1 MP front-facing camera too.
The Galaxy S5 mini has the same IP67 dust and water resistant as its bigger brother. It also comes with Ultra Power Saving mode, S Health and Private Mode/Kid Mode.
Connectivity wise, it features Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, NFC (LTE version only), Bluetooth v4.0 LE, USB 2.0, A-GPS + GLONASS and IR Remote. Surprisingly the Galaxy S5 mini also comes with fingerprint and heart rate sensors beside the accelerometer, digital compass, gyro, proximity, hall and ambient light sensors.
The device measures are 131.1 x 64.8 x 9.1 mm and weighs 120 g with the 2,100 mAh included. It is running on Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz Magazine UX out of the box.
