Asus is busy on pushing Android 4.4 KitKat update to its older devices. The PadFone Infinity (A80) and Fonepad Note 6 are the next devices to receive the new Android 4.4 KitKat update.
Just as usual both devices will update to Asus ZenUI. For PadFone Infinity (A80), Android 4.4 KitKat does not support some pre-installed apps. Here are the apps that will be removed or renamed once the Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade is complete:
1. Buddybuzz
2. Car Home
3. Watch Calendar
4. My Library
5. My Bit cast
6. App Backup→ will add it back in further run FOTA
7. Pinpal
8. ASUS Studio→ renamed to Gallery
9. ASUS To-Do→ renamed to Do It Later
10. Black list→ integrated with Contacts, no independent App icon now
11. ASUS Sync
12. App Locker→ integrated with Launcher, no independent App icon now
13. AO Link
14. ASUS Echo
15. Birthday Reminder
16. Mode manager
17. System bar lock
18. Device tracker
19. Floating App
20. Quick Tool
As for the Fonepad Note 6, the new update improves modem stability and removes app locker to combine into launcher. The update also removes Device Tracker as KitKat doesn't support this function. Just like the PadFone Infinity (A80), pre-installed apps such as App backup, MyLibrary, Parental Lock, MyBit Cast & AO Link will be removed too.
