Xiaomi has flatten the MIUI and it is now even closer to Apple iOS. MIUI 6 also introduces new redesigned icons and employs heavier use of translucency, encompassing the notification shade and dialler. On top of that, some apps also introduce a 3D parallax effect that was first seen on iOS 7.
With MIUI 6, your notifications can now be sorted into different levels of importance. Receive subtle prompts for less important notifications when you’re in the middle of a task, but distinct alerts for more important notifications.
You can now subscribe to your interests ranging from games, holidays, to TV shows and more, in your Calendar app. The camera app has been updated to support a swipe-down gesture to switch between front and rear cameras, which is same as HTC Sense 6.
Xiaomi promises that more updates on new features in MIUI 6, so these are not all. It seems that the MIUI 6 will be another new chapter for Xiaomi.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi will be testing MIUI 6 on 1000 beta testers using the Mi 3 and Mi 4 smartphones. The company aims to increase the number to 10,000 testers next week, before offering a developer build in early September. The MIUI official release is expected in October.
