The BlackBerry Passport has a 4.5" 1:1 aspect ratio display with 1,440 x 1,440 resolution at massive 435 ppi. It is powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB expandable storage.
The BlackBerry Passport comes with new iconic keyboard. The physical keyboard provides more typing accuracy and leaves more screen space for viewing. It is also touch-enabled, so you can perform many functions right on the keyboard. It’s responsive to touch so you can scroll web pages, flick to type or slide along the keys to move the cursor.
The back has a 13 MP shooter with OIS and 5-element f/2.0 lens. It is able to record 1080p video at 60 fps. The front-facing unit is a 2 MP that capable for 720p video recording.
Additionally, BlackBerry claims that the Passport packs the best speaker in any smartphone in the market. The speaker delivers louder and clearer sound, it is 18% louder than HTC One (M8) and 350% louder than Samsung Galaxy S5.
The Passport is running on latest BlackBerry 10.3 OS. The main feature of BB 10.3 is BlackBerry Assistant, which is something like Siri, Google Now and Cortana. It allows more extensive integration with BlackBerry’s other system apps, and allows you to enter queries via voice and text, as well as being a universal search option for the entire phone.
BlackBerry 10.3 OS also comes with Amazon App Store pre-installed. Amazon App Store offers a few Android apps that are capable running on BlackBerry devices.
Juicing up the device is a 3,540 mAh non-removable battery. Its measures 128 x 90.3 x 9.3 mm and weighs 196 g.
The BlackBerry Passport will be available through Celcom exclusively for RM 690 on contract until the end of October. It will be available in all authorized retailer stores after that for RM 2,399.
