Android 4.4.4 KitKat update brings Eye Experience to HTC One (M8)

A mere two days after announcing the new Eye Experience software which ships with the new Desire Eye, the company shows that it has not forgotten the HTC One (M8) by launching an update to bring it up to speed. The Eye Experience is coming to the One via the new Android 4.4.4 updates which also includes some security fixes.

The Eye Experience augments the One's camera with some pretty nifty features, mostly involving the front-facing camera. You are now able to track up to 4 faces simultaneously during video chat and within the camera's view angle thanks to Face Tracking. Another cool feature is the Split capture feature which allows you the use of  both the front and rear cameras simultaneously.

With the Eye Experience suite, you are now able to take selfies by saying 'cheese' or 'action' and merge 4 selfies together into a single photo by using Photo Booth.

The firmware version of the update is 3.28.401.6 and takes up 252.01 MB. As of writing, HTC is seeding the update for unlocked One units across Europe but other markets should expect the update soon.
