Samsung Malaysia announced the NX1, a mirrorless compact system camera (CSC), aiming to be a genuine alternative to DSLRs as the professional camera of choice around the world.
Featuring 15 frames per second continuous AF shooting, a unique Auto Focus System III with 205 Phase Detection AF Points and 28MP APS-C BSI CMOS Sensor, Samsung's latest offering puts it on par with the likes of beginner to mid-range level DSLR’s albeit in a compact size for superior image quality and performance. With high ISO, the NX1 have the ability to shoot in extreme low light surrounding with less noise on the image. Its capable of 4K UHD video recording without requirement of any external equipment.

The sensor using backside illumination technology has relocated the circuitry to the back of the camera, allowing for unobtrusive light to reach the sensor. The 28MP of the APS-C sensor is the highest resolution yet for cameras with this sensor.
The Samsung NX1 can shoot continuously for 15 frames per second even the best professional digital SLRs coupled with a super-sophisticated autofocus system with 205 phase-detection AF points, 209 contrast-detection points and a novel AF mode which Samsung says can predict the perfect moment to take a shot.
Equipped with Wi-Fi functionality, the NX1 can be paired with a Samsung phone or UHD TV to stream 4K movies via wireless streaming. The NX1 is also the world’s first Bluetooth equipped CSC, boosting Samsung’s Smart Camera offering and allowing users to stay connected by py pairing the NX1 with their smart phones and transfer either full sized photos or a scaled down 2MP photo. An editing software proprietary to Samsung’s is bundled with the package, but a video editor is lacking.
The NX1 is complemented by 16 lenses on offer from zoom, prime and special purposes lenses expanding with the new 50 - 150mm 2.8 S ED OIS lens, a high end, premium telephoto lens matched with the NX1 ideally suited to a wide range of scenarios including sport, wildlife and portrait photography.
The Samsung NX1 is available at all Samsung authorised dealers, at a recommended retail price of RM 4,699 (body only) and 8,699 (body with a 16-50mm F2-2.8 lens and vertical battery grip).
