Xiaomi has just officially announced the new flagship smartphone, it's not the Mi 5 but the Mi Note. The Mi Note is a serious competitor to the Apple iPhone 6 Plus, it has 2.5D curved glass at the front and 3D curved glass at the back accompanied with the metal frame.
The Mi Note has a 5.7" Full HD JDI display and is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Xiaomi has offered the insurance for the Mi Note too, against drops and water splashes. The display features eye protection mode, which is actually something like reading mode. As the screen is bigger, the new Mi Note is able to display 25% more content and the screen has 95% NTSC.
Instead of making the rear camera bumped up like the iPhone 6 Plus, the Mi Note comes with flat camera design. It has a 13 MP Sony IMX214 camera with 6-element lens, f/2.0 aperture and OIS. There's a Philips two-tone dual LED flash next to the camera.
As for the front camera, thing happens same as the HTC Desire 826. The Mi Note has a 4 MP 2µm front camera with the sensor size of 1/3' (same as HTC One M7 UltraPixel camera).
The Mi Note speaker comes with Hi-Fi audio system and 24-bit/192 KHz lossless playback support. with ESS ES9018K2M chip, which promises to provide best audio experience to consumers. Xiaomi has also offered a new headphone specially design for the Mi Note.
Powering the Mi Note is a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 3 GB of RAM. It is a dual SIM device that supports dual 4G LTE. Both Micro and Nano SIM are supported for the Mi Note.
The Xiaomi Mi Note is at 6.95 mm slim and 161 g light. Juicing up the device is a 3,000 mAh battery with 4.4 Volts.
The Mi Note will be available in black and white colors for 2,299 Yuan (16 GB) and 2,799 Yuan (64 GB).
Meanwhile, Xiaomi has also unveiled the Mi Note Pro. The Mi Note Pro comes with 5.5" QHD JDI display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB internal storage, LTE-Cat 9 connectivity and a slightly larger 3,090 mAh battery.
The Mi Note Pro comes with gold metal frame and is priced at 3,299 Yuan. The regular Mi Note will be available in China on 27th January while the Mi Note Pro may need to wait until March 2015.
