Apple increases iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 5s pricing

Besides announcing the new MacBook and update MacBook Pro with Retina display as well as MacBook Air, Apple has also made another change on its Malaysian online store. The prices of iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 5s have raised RM 200.

The new retail prices for the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 5s are below:

• iPhone 6 (16 GB): RM 2,399 > RM 2,549 (up RM 150)
• iPhone 6 (64 GB): RM 2,749 > RM 2,949 (up RM 200)
• iPhone 6 (128 GB): RM 3,149 > RM 3,349 (up RM 200)
• iPhone 6 Plus (16 GB): RM 2,749 > RM 2,949 (up RM 200)
• iPhone 6 Plus (64 GB): RM 3,149 > RM 3,349 (up RM 200)
• iPhone 6 Plus (128 GB): RM 3,549 > RM 3,749 (up RM 200)
• iPhone 5s (16 GB): RM 1,999 > RM 2,149 (up RM 150)
• iPhone 5s (32 GB): RM 2,199 > RM 2,349 (up RM 150)

Apple hasn't release any statement regarding this price increase, it could be due to the depreciation of the Malaysian Ringgit against the US Dollar, where the exchange rate is now USD $1 = RM 3.68, or this could be an early move by Apple to cover GST prices once the new tax kicks in from April 2015.
