ASUS Transformer Book T300 Chi
Announced at CES 2015, the Transformer Book T300 Chi is a 2-in-1 detachable Windows device. It sports a 12.5" Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) IPS display and is powered by Intel Core M-5Y71 processor with 4 GB of RAM. The thinnest point of it is only 7.6 mm, while the thickest point is 16.5 mm, which slightly thinner than the MacBook Air.
The T300 packs 128 GB SSD, which is 3.26 times faster to write the disk and 5.14 times faster to read the disk compared to HDD. Its 32 Whrs battery provides up to 8 hours of battery life.
Nevertheless, the T300 actually comes with an upgraded version with higher screen resolution at WQHD (2,560 x 1,440). It is running on Windows 8.1 and the price starts from RM 3,199 by end of this month.
ASUS ZenBook UX305
The ASUS ZenBook UX305 is the world's slimmest 13.3-inch Full HD ultraportable laptop. It is a serious competitor to Apple's brand new MacBook with slimmer body at 12.3 mm and lighter weight at 1.2 kg.
The device sports a 13.3" Full HD IPS display and comes with two versions - Intel Core M 5Y10
+ 128 GB SSD or Intel Core M 5Y71 + 256 GB SSD.
Unlike the new MacBook, the UX305 comes with three USB 3.0 ports despite having thinner body. It will be available in Malaysia by end of this month for RM 2,399 and RM 2,999 depending on which specs you choose.
ASUS Transformer Book T100 Chi
Although the Transformer Book T100 Chi is not available in Malaysia at the moment, but ASUS is kind to showcase this 2-in-1 detachable device.
It packs a 10.1" Full HD IPS display and is powered by 1.46 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3775 processor with 1/2 GB of RAM.
The device has a 5 MP rear and 2 MP front cameras, and its thickness is just at 7.2 mm. There will be 32 GB or 64 GB version for the T100.
And here's a good news! ASUS Malaysia has confirmed that prices of these devices will not be increased after GST. More models are expected to arrive pretty soon including the 15" version ZenBook Pro UX501.
