Vivo Malaysia will cover GST for consumers

Besides OPPO, Vivo Malaysia has also stated that they will bear the burden of GST which means the prices of Vivo smartphones will not increase even though GST will be effective from 1st April onwards.

It's good to know that the company will not increase the price of the smartphones. The X5 Max, which is now available in Malaysia, will stick to the same price tag at RM 1,799 as well.

In case you don't know what is GST, it's actually Goods and Services Tax. It will be effective from tomorrow onwards, and most products pricing will increase because of the 6% GST has added to it.

Vivo X5 Max now available in Malaysia

Announced last year, the Vivo X5 Max is now available in Malaysia. However, the variant that available in Malaysia is slightly thicker than the Chinese variant.

At just 5.08 mm thin, the X5 Max sports a 5.5" Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and has dual SIM slots.

Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor with 2 GB of RAM. The 16 GB internal storage is expandable via Micro SD card up to 128 GB.

It has a 13 MP Sony IMX214 sensor accompanied with a 5 MP front-facing camera. The X5 Max also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack despite having thin body. The speaker supports Hi-Fi 2.0 which provides better audio experience.

The Vivo X5 Max is running on Funtouch OS 2.0 based on Android 4.4 KitKat. Although it is slightly thicker than the Chinese variant (5.08 mm vs 4.75 mm), but it has extra 300 mAh battery capacity than the Chinese variant (2,300 mAh vs 2,000 mAh).

The X5 Max is now available nationwide with the price tag of RM 1,799.

Vivo has just officially announced the world's thinnest smartphone - X5 Max, at just 4.75 mm thickness. Being the rival of Oppo R5, the X5 Max sports a 5.5" Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and has dual SIM slots.

Under the hood of the X5 Max is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor with 2 GB of RAM. In just 4.75 mm thin body, it has a 13 MP Sony IMX214 sensor accompanied with a 5 MP front-facing camera.

Unlike the Oppo R5, the X5 Max has a 3.5 mm headphone jack despite it is having extremely thin body. The speaker of the phone supports Hi-Fi 2.0 which provides better audio experience.

The X5 Max is running on Funtouch OS 2.0 based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. There's no word on when will this device arrive Malaysia but Vivo will be selling it in China this month for CNY 2,998.

Vivo Xplay 3S now available in Malaysia

Vivo enters Malaysian market since May, and it's time for bringing the world's first smartphone with QHD display to Malaysia.

Yes, the Vivo Xplay 3S is now available at all Vivo stores and dealers nationwide. It is the world's first smartphone with QHD a.k.a 2K display. The device is a 6" phablet and is powered by 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage.

The Xplay 3S features fingerprint scanner as well as Extreme Hi-Fi dual speakers at the back. The camera unit is 13 MP resolution accompanied with 5 MP front-facing shooter.

The device is running on FunTouch OS based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and it is juiced by a 3,200 mAh battery. It is priced at RM 1,899, which is RM 100 higher than the Xshot.

[Update] Vivo X3S available in Malaysia for RM 1,399

It's hard to find Vivo smartphone outside of Chinese market but it seems Vivo is now planning to expand its smartphone availability to other markets. According to our insider, the Vivo X3S is now available in Malaysia for just RM 1,399.

Our insider has also revealed that the first Vivo concept store in Malaysia will be located at LowYat Plaza. Specs wise, the X3S has a 5" 720p IPS display. The device is powered by 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek processor with 1 GB of RAM.
