Samsung has already confirm the Galaxy Note 8.0 will be announced soon. The Galaxy Note 8.0 is to challenge the iPad mini. The official announcement is expect at upcoming MWC 2013 held at Barcelona.
The Galaxy Note 8.0 will come in 3G+WiFi (GT-N5100) and WiFi (GT-N5110) variants. It will be running Android 4.2 out of box, the mini tablet will feature a 1290 x 800 Super Clear LCD display, 5 MP camera with 1.3 MP front-facing shooter, 2 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB internal memory that support expandable memory via microSD card. It will powered by 4,600 mAh battery and of course a S-Pen will come with it. The Note 8.0 will have some S-Pen apps and optimizations similar to the Note II and Note 10.1.
If the slate on the picture is indeed the Galaxy Note 8.0, then you can expected hardware Android controls and an earpiece. This means the Note 8.0 will be intended mostly to be used in portrait orientation.
The Note 8.0 should be announced at upcoming MWC 2013 with the Galaxy Tab 3. So, stay tuned for the update during MWC.
