Samsung officially announced Galaxy Mega series

Samsung finally lifted the covers of the Galaxy Mega series - Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3 Android phablets. Both phablets have some same features from the Galaxy S4 flagships but offer much larger display and both are mid-range devices.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8



The Samsung Galaxy Mega (GT-I9512) will be a high-end DUOS dual-SIM smartphone with a 5.8" qHD (960x540) TFT display. It is powered by 1.4GHz dual-core Exynos 5250 chipset with 1.5GB of RAM. The Galaxy Mega 5.8 has a 8MP camera and 2MP front-facing camera. It will comes with 2,600 mAh battery and runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung TouchWiz Nature UX 2.0. The dimensions of it would be 162.6 x 82.4 x 9.0 mm and weighs 189g.
   


Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3


Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 comes with better specs than Galaxy Mega 5.8. It packs a 6.3" PLS HD resolution display. It is powered by 1.7GHz dual-core Exynos 5250 chipset with 1.5GB of RAM. It also has a 8MP camera and 2MP front-facing camera. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 offer 3,200 mAh battery which is the largest battery capacity of Samsung smartphone.

The Galaxy Mega 6.3 dimensions would be 167.6 x 88 x 8.0mm, it weighs 199g. Internal storage 8GB/16GB and there's a micro-SD card slot too. Galaxy Mega 6.3 enjoys LTE, NFC and packs an IR emitter so it can work as a remote control. It can also connect to Galaxy S4s and Grands with Group Play. It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung TouchWiz Nature UX 2.0.





Unfortunately, there's no S-Pen on both devices and there's still no information about the pricing and availability in Malaysia. Do stay tuned.
