We thought that BlackBerry will not building any BB OS 7.1 smartphone anymore, but it seems that BlackBerry doesn't want to give up BB OS 7.1. The BlackBerry 9720 has a hardware QWERTY keyboard as the previous BB OS 7 smartphone. Besides the keyboard there's also BBM that the 9720 has going on.

The BlackBerry 9720 has a 800 MHz CPU with 512 MB of RAM, it seems outdated even before a 2011 model like the Bold Touch 9900. It has a 1,450 mAh battery with 7 hours talk time. At the back it has a 5 MP camera with LED flash.

"It's perfect for customers upgrading from a feature phone or entry-level Android or Windows Phone device," says the press release and there's some truth to that - it would make a good feature phone replacement.

The Blackberry 9720 is targeted at emerging markets and it will launch in select Asian, EMEA and Latin American markets. It will come in five colors and there will be a number of accessories too. Will you buy the BB OS 7.1 smartphone, or go for the entry-level Android smartphone? Leave a comment let us know.
