Sony D6503 UI screenshots leak, even sized up against the Xperia Z1

Sony did not keep secret well in the past, for example the Xperia Z has even being reviewed before its official announcement in CES 2013. The Xperia Z1 and its brother Xperia Z1 Compact has also appeared in front of the camera for many times.

Well this time we have face a big problem on sharing some information about the upcoming Xperia device - Sony D6503 "Sirius". Just as usual the D6503 has leaked out and this time we get to see the UI and the device. Although this post might be a little bit long, but we are sure the Xperia fans will look on it as there are a lot of photos to share.

The Specifications...
The specifications of the Sony D6503 has revealed through a screenshots. The specs are include a 5.2" Full HD display, Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor which clocked at 2.3 GHz, Adreno 330 GPU, 3 GB of RAM, 20.7 MP camera and 2.1 MP front camera.


Although the screenshot above revealed the Sony D6503 runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but it is said to be running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat when launch. So you can expect something would changes when it is official, but don't worry as we will cover the Android 4.4.2 KitKat UI screenshots later.

The KitKat UI...
After the Android 4.3 UI screenshots have leaked, the Android 4.4 KitKat UI screenshots have also leaked no long ago. The latest batch of the screenshots have revealed some of the information, pointing that the Sony D6503 will be capable for 4K video recording and more.
Here are the details of the Sony D6503 when it launch with Android 4.4.2 KitKat:
- Android 4.4.2 KitKat with build number 17.1.A.X.XX
- 4K video recording and Timeshift video confirmed
- New display options: Glove mode, White balance and Smart backlight control
- Smart call handling
- Double tap to wake screen is included
- The phone app includes a built-in answering machine
- Two "Home" launchers now available - Simple Home and Xperia Home
- Sound menu has options for “Audio accessories” and “Hi-res Audio via USB”
- New Personalisation options for notifications and status bar icons
- Default SMS app can be changed
- The Sony D6503 will have 16 GB internal storage with microSD card slot
- Power management has “Device” and “Accessory” sections
- "Location Services" known as "Location"
- Printing feature available
- Sony will include a shortcut to What’s New app
- Transparent status bar now available
- Notifications and Quick Settings are now separate
- Unchanged Xperia Home launcher
- You can now close all the recent apps once
- Touch block Small app included
- Unchanged Movies app
- New Calendar app
- Garmin Navigon - Xperia Edition
- Stereo speakers with S-Force engine

The Device...
The Sony D6503 not only leaked with the UI screenshots, it also manages to sized up against the Xperia Z1, which is current Sony's flagship.



As you can see the D6503 looks quite identical to the Xperia Z1 despite the thinner bezels and it is said to be having a stereo speakers with S-Force engine. Although the photos above revealed that the D6503 has the same thickness as the Xperia Z1 but it might even thicker than the Xperia Z1 a few millimeters. the D6503 also looks longer, we guess it is because the larger screen on it.

The Sony D6503 "Sirius" is expected to debut in MWC 2014 next month. Be sure to stay tuned as we will keep you up-to-date.
