LG announces G Pro 2, the latest G Series device

LG has announced the successor of the Optimus G Pro - the LG G Pro 2. The LG G Pro 2 is the latest contender of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and HTC One Max, as well as the Oppo N1 that making its way to Malaysia next week.



The LG G Pro 2 has the same design language as the G2, it has the same rear keys - volume and power buttons at the back. The G Pro 2 sports a 5.9" display with Full HD resolution, but with slim bezels according to LG.


The phablet is powered by the same 2.26 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC as the G2 but with additional 3 GB of RAM. Just like the G2, the G Pro 2 has 16 GB and 32 GB versions and the device supports microSD card for further memory expansion.

LG has also improved the camera of the G Pro 2 over the G2, the device has the same 13 MP camera and 2.1 MP front-facing camera but with improved image stabilization - OIS+. The G Pro 2 is now able to record 4K videos and also HD 120 fps videos, as well as slow-motion editing.

The G Pro 2 camera also features Magic Focus, which is pretty like Nokia's Refocus feature, users can refocus the photos after captured. The Natural Flash offers a much more balanced color temperature and exposure compared to the normal flash, which results in a most natural image just as it is in real life. While the Flash for Selfie reduces the size of the preview screen and adds a bright white background for more “soft” lighting in self-portrait mode.

The G Pro 2 is running on Android 4.4 KitKat with the latest LG UX. Juicing up the device is a 3,200 mAh removable battery, which is same capacity as Galaxy Note 3. It is measured at 157.9 x 81.9 x 8.3 mm and weight 172 g. It will be available in Titan, White and Silver colours.

The LG G Pro 2 currently available in Korean market only, as for global availability LG hasn't make any announcement but the device will showcase at MWC 2014 in Barcelona.
