Update: According SamMobile, the Galaxy Note II will be getting the Android 4.4 update too.
Shortly after Samsung USA has announced the Android 4.4 update list, a Polish blogger got in touch with a local Samsung representative and found out the Android 4.4 update list for international Samsung's devices.
Here's the list for those smartphones that are able to get Android 4.4 update:
-Samsung Galaxy Note 3
-Samsung Galaxy S4
-Samsung Galaxy S4 Active
-Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini
-Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom
-Samsung Galaxy Note II
-Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition)
-Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
-Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0
-Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0
-Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0
-Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1
-Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3
-Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8
-Samsung Galaxy Grand
-Samsung Galaxy Express 2
You will notice that the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II are missing from the list. The main reason why Galaxy S III would not getting the KitKat update is it has only 1 GB of RAM.
The reason was unacceptable as the Galaxy Grand also has 1 GB of RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat is optimized for 512 MB RAM devices.
There's no reason why the Galaxy Note II is also missing from the list. If the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Note II will not getting the Android 4.4 update, this puts Samsung's 2012 flagship in the same boat as the international HTC One X - remaining on Android Jelly Bean without any further update.
