Samsung rolls out Android 4.4 update to Galaxy S4

Samsung has started seeding the Android 4.4 update to the Galaxy S4. However, the update is currently available to the Exynos-based GT-I9500, which the HSPA+ version of the Galaxy S4. We expected the Galaxy S4 LTE will receive the update shortly after.



The new KitKat update reportedly currently available in Russia and India, but some users claimed that the update not yet pushed to India.


Here's the changelog of the Android 4.4 update:
- Android 4.4 KitKat with Project Svelte
- Better lockscreen with support for full-screen music album art and a dedicated camera shortcut
- Minor UI updates including monochrome status bar icon
- Improved stability

To install the update, you need to go to Settings -> About Device -> About Phones -> Software Update, and you should have about 1 GB free space.

No word on the release date of the update in Malaysia but we will keep it in touch.
