GadgetMTech Special: Devices that are going on sale in Malaysia this month

We all know that there are a lot of devices are making its way to Malaysia this month, so GadgetMTech has arranged the information to our readers.

Asus ZenFone 4,5 and 6
The Asus ZenFone series was announced in CES 2014, these devices will be available in Malaysia by the end of April.



The ZenFone 4 has a 4" TFT LED Backlight with WVGA resolution, 1.2 GHz dual-core Intel Z2520 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 5 MP camera, 4 GB internal storage with microSD card slot.

The Zenfone 4 also has a 1,170 mAh battery and it is priced at RM 299.


The ZenFone 5 has a 5" 720p HD TFT LED display, 2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 8 MP PixelMaster camera with f/2.0 aperture which promises great low-light shots, 2 MP front-facing shooter and 2,050 mAh battery.The device carries the price tag of RM 599, which is the cheapest in its class.

The Asus ZenFone 6 has a 6" 720p HD IPS display, 2 GHz dual-core Intel Z2580, 1/2 GB of RAM, microSD card slot, 13 MP PixelMaster camera and 3,230 mAh battery. The ZenFone 6 is priced at RM 899.

HTC One (M8)
The HTC One (M8) was announced last week, and it is now already available in America and Taiwan. The device is expected to arrive Malaysia this month and pricing is yet to be revealed. However, it seems that the device will be priced at RM 2,199 for 16 GB version while 32 GB version might come later.



Specs wise the device has a 5" 1080p display, Snapdragon 801 SoC, 2 GB of RAM, Duo camera and 2,600 mAh battery. The device is running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sense 6 UI and it comes with grey, silver and gold colours.


Lenovo Vibe Z
The Lenovo Vibe Z was officially exclusively available in Celcom last month, and now the latest flagship device from Lenovo is now available in all retailer stores nationwide for RM 1,799.



The Vibe Z has a 5.5" display with 1080p resolution, Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB non-expandable storage, 13 MP camera and 3,200 mAh battery. It is running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and upgradable to Android 4.4 KitKat soon.

Motorola Moto X
The Moto X was unveiled 8 months ago, and it is now available for pre-order with the pricing of RM 1,399 RM 1,499.



The device has a 4.7" 720p AMOLED display, 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB non-expandable memory, 10 MP Clear Pixel camera and 2,200 mAh battery. The device is running on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box for our region, it will be available in Malaysia by the end of April.

Oppo Find 7a
The Oppo Find 7a is the lower end version of Find 7, it will be arrived Malaysia by the end of April with unknown price tag.



The Find 7a has a 5.5" display with Full HD resolution, Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB expandable storage and a 13 MP camera with a Super Mode feature that merges 10 images into a single 50 MP image.

The device is running on Colour OS 1.2 which is based on Android 4.3.

Samsung Galaxy S5
The Galaxy S5 was launched in Malaysia last week and but it will only available for purchase on 11th of April alongside with Gear 2 and Gear Fit.



The Galaxy S5 has a 5.1" 1080p Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 801 SoC, 2 GB of RAM, 16 MP camera, 16 GB expandable storage and 2,800 mAh battery. It is running on Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UI. The device is priced at RM 2,399, which is pretty similar to Xperia Z2.

Sony Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia M2 and Xperia T2 Ultra
The Sony Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet and Xperia M2 will be available in Malaysia in mid-April, while the Xperia T2 Ultra is now available in Malaysia for RM 1,299.



The Xperia Z2 has a 5.2" 1080p IPS display, Snapdragon 801 SoC, 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 20.7 MP camera and a 3,000 mAh battery. The device is running on Android 4.4 KitKat with latest Xperia UI. It will be priced at RM 2,399, which is similar to the Galaxy S5.



The Xperia Z2 Tablet has 10.1" TFT display with 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, Snapdragon 800 SoC, 3 GB RAM, 16 GB expandable memory, 8 MP camera and Android 4.4 KitKat. However, the pricing of the tablet is still unknown.



The Xperia M2 has a 4.8" qHD display, 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB expandable storage, 8 MP camera and 2,300 mAh battery. The device is running on Android 4.3 (upgradable to Android 4.4) and priced at RM 999.



The Xperia T2 Ultra has a 6" TFT display with 720 x 1280 HD resolution, 1.4 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8928 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 13 MP camera and 3,000 mAh battery. The phablet is running on Android 4.3 (upgradable to Android 4.4) and priced at RM 1,299 with 6 months FREE music unlimited subscription powered by Akazoo starting 1st April and 3 movies download-able via Privilege Movies starting 1st May.

Xiaomi Redmi and Mi 3
Two months ago, Xiaomi Global Vice President Hugo Barra has revealed that they will bring Xiaomi device to Malaysian market in two months, which is this month. While the Redmi and Mi 3 are now available in Singapore, we expected Malaysia will also get both devices by this month.



The Redmi has a 4.7" HD IPS display, 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB expandable storage, 8 MP camera and 2,000 mAh battery. The device is running on MIUI which based on Android 4.2.2 and it is expected to be priced at RM 499.



The Mi 3 has a 5" Full HD display, 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2 GB of RAM, 16/64 GB non-expandable storage, 13 MP camera and 3,050 mAh battery. The device is running on MIUI which based on Android 4.2.2 and it is expected to be priced at RM 1,199.
