Samsung Gear S goes official, a Tizen wearable device

Besides LG, Samsung has also unveiled a wearable device that running on homemade Tizen OS. The Samsung Gear S is the company's latest wearable device with 2" (360 x 480 pixels) curved Super AMOLED display.

      

The device is powered by 1 GHz dual-core with 512 MB of RAM. It comes with 4 GB internal storage, quad-band 2G/3G, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, GPS/GLONASS, and USB 2.0.


The Gear S supports 3G connectivity, which means you are able to make and receive phone calls through Samsung Gear Circle, an optional neck Bluetooth accessory.

The device comes with Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Heart Rate, Ambient Light, UV sensors and Barometer. It is IP67 certified for water and dust resistance.

Both the Samsung Gear S and the Gear Circle will be available in global markets in phases through Samsung’s retail channels, e-commerce websites and via carriers beginning October.
