Sony announces waterproof Xperia M2 - Xperia M2 Aqua

Sony has officially announced the waterproof version Xperia M2 - Xperia M2 Aqua. The smartphone comes with IP68 dust and water resistance certification, which is the highest IP rating found on a smartphone.

The Xperia M2 Aqua is identical to the regular Xperia M2, it sports the same 4.8" qHD display with the pixel density of 233 ppi and is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1 GB of RAM. The battery capacity is 2,330 mAh, which is similar to the two year-old Xperia Z.

The 8 MP camera is capable for 1080p video recording, and it has a camera button, which means you can capture photos or videos underwater easily.

The Xperia M2 Aqua comes with 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth and ANT+ for sports accessories. It is running on Android 4.4 KitKat with custom Xperia UI. The device will be available in white and black colors, and there will be new color too. It will be out from Autumn 2014 to markets including Latin America, Asia Pacific and Europe.
