Sony will be bringing a few devices to Malaysia starting from next month

Yesterday, Sony Mobile has held a regional event in Singapore and has announced that they will be bringing the devices that announced at IFA 2014 to Malaysia starting from next month.


The Xperia Z3 is the latest flagship device from Sony, it is almost same as Xperia Z2 though. It is powered by 2.5 GHz quad-core MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 processor with 3 GB of RAM.

It has a 5.2" IPS LCD display with 1080p resolution (no 2K). The display has improved which is able to reach 600 nits brightness.



The camera is the same 20.7 MP unit with OIS and 4K video recordings. The device is 1 mm slimmer and 11 g lighter than its predecessor.

The Xperia Z3 Compact has a smaller 4.6" display with 720p resolution and the RAM is 2 GB. The 2,600 mAh battery is another step down from the 3,100 mAh unit on the Xperia Z3.



The rest of the specs are same - Snapdragon 801 processor, 20.7 MP camera and Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

The Sony Xperia E3 is the company's cheapest 4G LTE device. It has a 4.5" 480 x 854 pixels display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1 GB of RAM.



It has a 5 MP camera at the back, 1.3 MP front and 4 GB expandable storage. The device is running on Android 4.4 KitKat and juicing up it is a 2,330 mAh battery.

The Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact has a 8" 1,920 x 1,200 pixels display with the pixel density of 283 ppi. It is powered by 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 3 GB of RAM.



It has 16 GB expandable storage and 4,500 mAh battery. There's an 8.1 MP camera at the back and 2.2 MP at the front. It also features IP65/68 dust and water protection too.

The Sony SmartWatch 3 is a smart wearable device powered by Android Wear. It has a 1.6" Transflective display with 320 x 320 pixels and is powered by 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 512 MB of RAM.



The internal storage is 4 GB and it has a 420 mAh battery. It is also IP68 rated with dust and water resistance.

The SmartWatch 3 is optimised for devices running on Android 4.3 and later. It will be available in black and yellow colors with different wrist straps.

The SmartBand Talk features a 1.4″ e-ink display so you can view LifeLog activities, notifications and the time at a glance.

It comes with accelerometer and altimeter sensor technology for fitness tracking. You can also control a connected phone's music player.

The Xperia Z3 line-up and Xperia E3 will be available in Malaysia next month with unknown pricing. Sony will hold a separate local launch event to announce the pricing. As for the wearables, Sony will be bringing the SmartBand Talk by the end of 2014, while the SmartWatch 3 will be available at a later date.
