Samsung Mobile Malaysia today has launched the Galaxy A3 and A5 in Malaysia. Both smartphones are targeting the youth markets and mainly for selfie lovers. The Galaxy A3 and A5 have broke Samsung tradition with full metal unibody, which means that you won't be able to remove the back cover after all.
Both Galaxy A3 and A5 are almost same, despite the size, camera, RAM and battery are different. Both smartphones are Samsung's slimmest smartphones to date, featuring full metal body designs that are 6.7 mm and 6.9 mm thin respectively.

Both smartphones look alike, you can't really differentiate which one is the one. However, the only way to differentiate between Gaalxy A3 and A5 is the size. The Galaxy A3 has slightly smaller 4.5" qHD Super AMOLED display compared to the Galaxy A5 5" HD Super AMOLED display.
I have to say that Samsung is making a right choice to break its tradition with metal unibody. Both smartphones just feel so good and are comfortable to hold. For now, both smartphones are smooth because not much apps been installed, thanks to the 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor. The Galaxy A3 has 1 GB of RAM while the A5 has 2 GB of RAM.
Let's just put the 8 MP camera at the back of Galaxy A3 and 13 MP camera at the back of Galaxy A5 aside. The main selling point of the Galaxy A Series is the 5 MP front-facing camera that features wide selfie.
The Galaxy A3 has 1,900 mAh battery and the A5 has 2,300 mAh battery. Both are running on Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UI. The brand new TouchWiz UI allows you to switch the themes like the Chinese manufacturer.
The Samsung Galaxy A3 is priced at RM 899 while the Galaxy A5 is priced at RM 1,199. Both are now available in all nationwide Samsung retail stores.
