Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S5. The new Galaxy S5 has a larger 5.1" 1080p Super AMOLED display and the device is powered by Snapdragon 801 SoC which clocked at 2.5 GHz.
To compete with the Xperia Z2, the Galaxy S5 is also featuring IP67 dust and water resistance certification, which is better than the IP58 rating Xperia Z2.
Unlike the Galaxy Note 3, the Galaxy S5 has only 2 GB of RAM, which is even less than the Galaxy Note 3 and Xperia Z2 3 GB RAM. The device has the 16/32 GB internal storage with microSD card slot that support up to 128 GB expansion.
At the back, the device has 16 MP camera which is also capable for UHD video recording at 30 frames per second. The front-facing camera remains 2 MP resolution with 1080p video conferencing. Speaking to its sensor, the Galaxy S5 has fingerprint scanner and heart rate sensor too.
The device is running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with revamped TouchWiz UI. Juicing up the device is a 2,800 mAh battery with promises 390 hours standby time and 21 hours talk time.
It is measured at 142.0 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm and weight at 145 g. The Galaxy S5 will be available in Black, White, Blue and Copper.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S5 will also having Exynos version which is clocked at 2.1 GHz with octa-core CPU.
