Nokia Lumia 530 to be launched in Malaysia on August 12th

Microsoft Mobile Malaysia has sent out an invitation to media for the launch of the Nokia Lumia 530 in Malaysia.

Announced last month, the Lumia 530 is the new entry-level smartphone in the Lumia line-up. It sports the same 4" display with 854 x 480 resolution as the Lumia 520. However it has 16:9 aspect ratio and it's not an IPS display like the Lumia 520 had.

Powering the device is a slightly better 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with Adreno 302 GPU. Sadly, it has only 512 MB of RAM, same as the Lumia 630 but downgraded from Lumia 525.

The 5 MP camera at the back is fixed-focus and it can only records 854 x 480 videos, which is a noticeable downgrade from the 720p video capability of the Lumia 520. The internal storage has been halved to 4 GB, but you can still expand it via microSD card up to 128 GB.

Juicing up the device is the same 1,430 mAh battery and it is rated at 10 hours 3G talk time and 22 days standby time.

The Nokia Lumia 530 boots in Windows Phone 8.1 out of the box and it is bundled with Nokia Drive+ for world-wide navigation. It's good to know that the Lumia 530 is on its way to Malaysian market within a month after it was launched. Stay tuned on us as more details are coming soon.
