Nokia still alive with the N1, an Android powered tablet

What a surprise from Nokia! The company is still alive after Microsoft sale with the announcement of N1, the first Android tablet from Nokia.


In terms of design, the N1 looks just like an Apple iPad mini. It has a 7.9" IPS display with 2,048 x 1,538 resolution, that's 4:3 aspect ratio. It is powered by Intel Atom Z3580 64-bit processor with 2 GB of RAM.

Nokia Lumia 830 and Lumia 735 available in Malaysia from 3rd October onwards

Microsoft Malaysia today has launched the Nokia Lumia 830 and Lumia 735 in Malaysia. Both devices were announced during IFA 2014 in Berlin just few weeks ago.


The Nokia Lumia 830 is the Lumia 930 younger brother. It has a 5" 720p HD IPS LCD display covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The device is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB expandable storage.

Nokia Malaysia offers Buy 1 Take 1 Lumia 530 Sale

[IFA 2014] Microsoft Mobile announces Nokia Lumia 830, Lumia 730 and Lumia 735

Microsoft Mobile has announced three new devices to the Lumia lineup - Lumia 830, Lumia 730 and Lumia 735.

Nokia Lumia 830
The Nokia Lumia 830 is the Lumia 930 younger brother. It has a 5" 720p HD IPS LCD display covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

 

The device is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB expandable storage.

The Lumia 830 has a 10 MP f/2.2 camera with Zeiss optics and OIS instead of 20 MP as previous rumors suggested. It has Rich Capture which allows you to expose darker areas of an image and even add an LED flash effect after you've taken an image.

The Lumia 830 comes with 2,200 mAh battery and supports wireless charging. Its measurements are 139.4 x 70.7 x 8.5 mm and weighs 150 g.

Nokia Lumia 830 press render shows up next to Lumia 930

IFA 2014 is just less than 2 weeks and it seems that the Nokia Lumia 830 just can't stay quietly. Today a press render of the Lumia 830 has shown up next to the Lumia 930.


As you can see the Nokia Lumia 830 will be slightly longer than the Lumia 930 (139.4 mm x 70.7 mm vs 137 mm x 71 mm). The device is said to be using an IPS LCD display, unlike the Lumia 930 with AMOLED display.

Specs wise, the Lumia 830 is most probably come with a 4.5" HD display, 13 MP or 20 MP PureView camera and Snapdragon 800 SoC.

The new Nokia Lumia 830 will go official in ten days' time, which is next week.

Nokia Lumia 830 leaks in a short video

Just when we have no idea about the Nokia Lumia 830, a short video has appeared giving us know more about the device.


According to TK Tech News, the Nokia Lumia 830 will feature a 4.5" HD display with the pixel density of 326 ppi. The camera of it will be a 20 MP PureView sensor, instead of 13 MP as previous rumors suggested. Other confirmed bits include LTE support and, naturally, Windows Phone 8.1 under the hood.

Microsoft holds an event in IFA on 4th September

After Samsung and Sony, Microsoft has also sent out an invitation for its upcoming event in IFA that happens on September 4th.


The invitation above teases that Microsoft Mobile will be launching the Lumia 830 as the "O" letter in "more" has been replaced by the camera module of the Lumia 830.

Nokia Lumia 530 available in Malaysia starts from 15th August

Microsoft Mobile today has launched the Nokia Lumia 530 in Malaysia. The new Nokia Lumia 530 is the company's most affordable Windows Phone smartphone with 4" FWVGA IPS display.


Although it's an entry-level smartphone, but it comes with 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with Adreno 302 GPU and 512 MB of RAM.

The 5 MP camera at the back is fixed-focus and it can only records 480p videos. The internal storage has been halved to 4 GB, but you can still expand it via microSD card up to 128 GB.

Juicing up the device is the same 1,430 mAh battery and it is rated at 10 hours 3G talk time and 22 days standby time.

The Nokia Lumia 530 boots in Windows Phone 8.1 out of the box and it is bundled with Nokia Drive+ for world-wide navigation. It is priced at only RM 355 with bright orange, bright green, white and dark grey color options and will be available from August 15th onwards. Not to forget that the Lumia 530 in Malaysia supports dual-SIM cards.

Nokia Lumia 730 press render leaks, confirms to have dual-SIM version

Yesterday we saw the first photos of the Nokia Lumia 730 showing the front and the back of it, and today the press render of the upcoming mid-ranger from Microsoft Mobile that focusing on selfies has appeared on BaiDu.


Codenamed as Superman, the Lumia 730 will be having a 5 MP front camera to ensure users get the best selfie shoots. The device will feature a 4.7" 720p display, polycarbonate unibody construction, 8 MP camera and on-screen buttons.

Powering the device will be a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB expandable memory. The 2,000 mAh battery will be juiced up the device and it will boot in Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 out of the box.

The Nokia Lumia 730 is expected to break cover by this month alongside with the Lumia 820.

First photos of Nokia Lumia 730 leak

Microsoft Mobile is working on the successor to the Nokia Lumia 720 that was released in early last year. The upcoming device is bound to be called Lumia 730, with the codename of Superman. Today we finally get to see the device in the leaked photos.


The photos above reveal the front and the back of the device, which looks pretty much like the rest of Lumia devices. From the photos we can confirm that the upcoming Lumia 730 will be having dual-SIM variant. Just like the Lumia 630 and Lumia 530, it will feature on-screen navigating buttons in the 4.7" 720p display.

Nokia Lumia 530 to be launched in Malaysia on August 12th

Microsoft Mobile Malaysia has sent out an invitation to media for the launch of the Nokia Lumia 530 in Malaysia.


Announced last month, the Lumia 530 is the new entry-level smartphone in the Lumia line-up. It sports the same 4" display with 854 x 480 resolution as the Lumia 520. However it has 16:9 aspect ratio and it's not an IPS display like the Lumia 520 had.

Powering the device is a slightly better 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with Adreno 302 GPU. Sadly, it has only 512 MB of RAM, same as the Lumia 630 but downgraded from Lumia 525.

First generation Nokia X lineup receives new update

Good news for first generation Nokia X owners, new update is now seeding to your device. Bad news, not the Nokia X Platform 2.0, that they'll never get.

 

The new update comes with a few features from the Nokia X Platform 2.0 and is now seeding to Nokia X, Nokia X+ and Nokia XL.

Now all Nokia X users can enjoy the new app switcher, you can access it by swiping down from the top of the screen and tapping the app switcher icon. Select the app you want to switch to, or tap the X icon to close an app.

Microsoft Mobile announces Nokia XL 4G in China

Microsoft Mobile has announced the Nokia XL with 4G LTE connectivity in China yesterday (28th July). The new Nokia XL 4G not only added with TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA 4G support, but the RAM has also upgraded to 1 GB.


The Nokia XL 4G is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (probably is Snapdragon 400 SoC). The device has the same 5" WVGA display, 5 MP camera with LED flash, 2 MP front 4 GB expandable storage and 2,000 mAh battery. It is running on the latest Nokia X Platform 1.1 based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Additionally, Microsoft Mobile has stated that the Nokia XL 4G is the last product of the Nokia X series. The Nokia XL 4G will be available in China next month with unknown pricing, and it seems that the device won't be having global release as it is only for Chinese market via China Mobile. Nokia Lumia 830 press render leaks, shows Microsoft branding

After the Lumia 930, it seems that Microsoft Mobile will be announcing the successor for the Lumia 820. Now the Lumia 830 has been spotted in a new leaked render, and it shows the Nokia by Microsoft branding on the phone.


The new render looks same as previous rumors, it will be having similar design language as the Lumia 930 but the camera lens design is a little bit different. The camera lens does remind us the 808 PureView as well as Lumia 1020.

Nokia Lumia 930 will be available next week for RM 1,999

Microsoft Malaysia today has launched the Nokia Lumia 930 in Malaysia, however the device will be only available in Malaysia next week with the price tag of RM 1,999.


The Nokia Lumia 930 will be available in Malaysia from July 6th onwards, but for those who are interested on it is able to pre-order the device now til end of this week at 18 Nokia Stores throughout Malaysia.

Nokia X, X+ and XL will not getting X Platform 2.0 update

Followed by the launch of Nokia X2, Microsoft Mobile has announced that the Nokia X, X+ and XL will not getting the X Platform 2.0 update, which is currently running on the Nokia X2.


The new Nokia X 2.0 Platform is based on Android API 18 (which corresponds to 4.3 Jelly Bean) and brings a number of changes to the UI. There are four tiles per line of the homescreen, which is upgraded from three.

Microsoft Mobile officially unveils the Nokia X2

Microsoft Mobile has officially announced the next generation of Nokia X, the Nokia X2. The new Nokia X2 comes with a few improvements as well as design changes.


The new Nokia X2 has a larger 4.3" ClearBlack LCD display but with the same WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) resolution. It is powered by 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with additional 1 GB of RAM, which is upgraded from its predecessor with 512 MB RAM.

Nokia X successor to be announced on June 24th

Nokia - a company from Microsoft, will be releasing the successor of the Nokia X on June 24th. The company has posted a teaser on its website with the tagline "Green with envy", which probably to be the Nokia X2.


Not much details of the upcoming Nokia X2, but the rumors suggested that it will have a dedicated home button, which you don't find on the Nokia X. The device will feature a larger display, perhaps with higher resolution and faster processor, as well as 1 GB of RAM.

Camera wise is still a clue, but we will find it out soon on June 24th.

Nokia Lumia 630 Dual SIM and Nokia XL pricing get revealed

Just before the official launch of the Nokia Lumia 630 Dual SIM, the device has quietly arrived some Nokia stores. Besides the Lumia 630, the Nokia X bigger brother, Nokia XL has also arrived Malaysia.



The Lumia 630 has a 4.5" FWVGA ClearBlack IPS LCD display, 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB expandable memory and a 5 MP shooter. It is the first Windows Phone 8.1 device in market and the first dual-SIM Windows Phone device too.
