The device has a curved case that tapers to an incredibly thin 3.9 mm at the edges, which provides a better handling. The ZenFone 2 has rear-mounted volume control keys, much like the LG G series.
The new ZenFone 2 sports a 5.5" Full HD IPS display with a 403 ppi pixel density and a wide 178-degree viewing angle. The ZenFone 2 follows the footstep of the Fonepad, it has an ultra-narrow 3.3 mm bezel, with 72% screen-to-body ratio.
Powering the device is a 64-bit 2.3 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor. The ZenFone 2 is the first smartphone in the world to have 4 GB of RAM. It comes with 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage with Micro SD card slot.
The 13 MP PixelMaster camera with f/2.0 aperture handles for taking photos and videos. Just as usual the PixelMaster technology is able to capture up to 400% brighter photos at night, or in low-light scenes, without the need for a flash. When a flash is preferred, ZenFone 2 is equipped with a Real Tone Flash to ensure warm skin tones and accurate color. And finally, the front-facing camera is a 5 MP unit that capable for Selfie Panorama.
The ZenFone 2 is a LTE-enabled device and 3,000 mAh battery is juicing up the device. Additionally, the ZenFone 2 comes with fast charging technology which is able to take your battery level to 60% in just 39 minutes.
It is running on Android 5.0 Lollipop with brand new ZenUI. The new ZenUI comes with many new features - including ZenMotion, SnapView, Trend Micro security and ZenUI Instant Updates.
There's no word on the exact launch date at the moment, but it seems that the ZenFone 2 will be available in 2 variants - Intel Atom Z3560 with 2 GB of RAM and Intel Atom Z3580 with 4 GB of RAM.
It will be available in Q2 2015 with Glacier Gray, Osmium Black, Glamour Red, Ceramic White and Sheer Gold color options.
