Samsung to bring Galaxy Note Edge to Malaysia in February

The Malaysian launch of Samsung's Galaxy A5 and A3 series had brought along its own share of surprises. While the series launch in India awhile back had Samsung announcing the new Galaxy E series, the Malaysian launch gave the public a world-first look at the as of yet unannounced Galaxy A7. What was interesting was that the public got to see first-hand the upcoming Galaxy Note Edge.

The Galaxy Note Edge was on show at the launch event, sitting quietly on a random table on the show floor. According to various insider information, the Galaxy Note Edge would be coming to Malaysia as early as next month so keep your eyes peeled.

The device, which was announced back at IFA 2014 was unveiled as a premium alternative to Samsung's new Galaxy note 4. It shares quite a bit of similar hardware to its counterpart such as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 2.7GHz quad-core processor, 3 GBs of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory, a new S pen, 16 MP Smart OIS camera and a 3.7 MP front-facing camera.

Probably the most unique aspect of the Note Edge is the display, which curves to the right side of the phone. Samsung have christened it the Edge Screen, this 2560 x 160 already has a few applications such as being a notifications ticker and a bedside clock which is always visible.

According to our sources, Samsung is planning to release the Note Edge around early February. Those interested in buying should remember this is said to be the 'premium' option for the Note 4 so instead of expecting a RM 2,499 price like before, a price closer to RM 3,000 should be expected.
