Samsung Galaxy S6
The Galaxy S6 features a brand new double-glass design which both are Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Just like the recent Samsung flagships, the Galaxy S6 has metal frame around the phone.
The phone sports a 5.1" QHD (2,560 x 1,440) Super AMOLED display and is powered by the company's latest 64-bit 14 nm Exynos processor with four 2.1 GHz cores plus four 1.5 GHz cores. It also comes with 3 GB LPDDR4 RAM, which enhances memory speed with lower power consumption.
The Galaxy S6 features brand new 16 MP rear camera with OIS and 5 MP front camera, both cameras come with F1.9 lenses. Furthermore, Quick Launch feature give users fast, direct access to the camera from any screen in just 0.7 second by simply double clicking the home key button.
With upgraded Samsung KNOX, Samsung offers defense-grade features for real-time protection from potential malicious attacks. The Galaxy S6 is ready for immediate enterprise adoption, with market leading MDMs and KNOX enhancements enabled at launch to simplify and improve mobile device management. Additionally, the fingerprint scanner is now touch-type instead of swipe-type, which is easier to use.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 is running on Android 5.0 Lollipop with updated TouchWiz UX. Unlike its predecessor, the device comes with built-in 2,550 mAh battery which supports both WPC and PMA certified wireless charging technology. It also sports fast wired charging, 1.5 times faster than the Galaxy S5, providing about 4 hours of usage after only 10 minutes of charging.
For the first time in Samsung smartphone, the Galaxy S6 internal storage is not expandable. It will be available in Malaysia by mid-April and there are 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB versions.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
Basically the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is similar to its "non-Edge" sibling. It has the same double-glass design and metal frame around the phone, 64-bit 14 nm Exynos processor (four 2.1 GHz cores plus four 1.5 GHz cores) with 3 GB LPDDR4 RAM, 16 MP rear camera with OIS and 5 MP front camera, upgraded Samsung KNOX and Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The Galaxy S6 Edge comes with a 5.1" QHD (2,560 x 1,440) Super AMOLED dual edge display. Its battery is slightly larger than the Galaxy S6 at 2,600 mAh. The device is also thicker than the Galaxy S6 (6.8 mm vs 7 mm) but lighter at 132 g (138 g for Galaxy S6).
Same as the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 Edge will be available in Malaysia by mid-April and there are 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB versions.
Additionally, Samsung has also announced the Gear VR, which is compatible to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. The Gear VR is optimized for both the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, and its 5.1" Super AMOLED display, Gear VR Innovator Edition lets users engage with high resolution movies, TV shows, VOD services and photos like never before. With reduced pixilation and a wide field-of-view, users receive a better virtual reality experience with longer lasting usage time.
Gear VR content is available for download via the Oculus Store. Users have an extensive selection of optimized, localized virtual reality content from top-tier creators including thrilling VR games and 360 degree including a new performance from Cirque du Soleil, Kurios.
