[Google I/O 2014] New Android Wear-powered wearable devices

Google has announced Android Wear three months ago, the company has detailed the features of it in Google I/O 2014 keynote. LG, Motorola and Samsung have announced their latest wearable devices powered by Android Wear too.

Android Wear supports both square and round screens. It organizes your information, suggests what you need, and shows it to you before you even ask. Get messages from your friends, appointment notifications, and weather updates at a glance.

By just saying "Ok Google", it will respond to texts, instant messages, and emails by voice. Android Wear devices will also keep track of your fitness with daily summaries showing your step count and heart rate. It connects your phone to your wrist. Pause, play, and skip music tracks or quickly respond to text messages from your watch. However it is only compatible to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or higher.

LG G Watch

The LG G Watch has a 1.65" IPS LCD touchscreen with 280 x 280 resolution. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage.

The G Watch is water and dust resistant with IP67 certification, which means it's dust tight and can withstand being submerged in up to 1 m of water for up to 30 minutes.

Its measures are 37.9 x 46.5 x 9.95 mm and weighs 63 g with a 400 mAh battery built-in. The device features 9-axis sensors (gyro / accelerometer / compass), as well as Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.

Motorola Moto 360

 

The Motorola Moto 360 was introduced three months ago too alongside with Android Wear. It has a round face design, the company claims to have used premium materials to provide the much needed elegance. It is also water and dust resistant with IP67 certification.

The Moto 360 will be available in a variety of styles globally in Summer 2014, starting in the US.

Samsung Gear Live

 

The Samsung Gear Live has a 1.63" Super AMOLED touchscreen with 320 x 320 resolution. Personally the device looks same as Gear 2 but with Android Wear system.

It is powered by 1.2 GHz processor with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage. The device is also IP67 certified and it comes with heart rate monitor.

Its dimensions are 37.9 x 56.4 x 8.9 mm and weighs 59 g with a 300 mAh battery.
