[Computex 2014] Acer announces new smartphones, tablet and smartband

Acer has officially unveiled a few products at Computex 2014 with five smartphones, a tablet and a smartband.

Acer Liquid X1
The Acer Liquid X1 is an octa-core LTE smartphone with a 5.7" Zero Air Gap screen. The device is powered by MediaTek MT6592 SoC with 2 GB of RAM.


The device has a 16 GB on board storage with microSD card slot. At the back it has a 13 MP camera with 0.3 s ultra-fast focus, Free Focus and Bright Magic for capturing great pictures anywhere. Juicing up the device is a 2,700 mAh battery and it is running on Android 4.4 KitKat.

Acer Liquid S2 is now available in Malaysia for RM 1,899

Back to IFA 2013, Acer has announced the first smartphone with 4K video recording - the Liquid S2. The first 4K-capable smartphone is now available in Malaysia for RM 1,899.



The Acer Liquid S2 has a 6" Full HD IPS display (368 ppi) covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone has a 3,300 mAh battery and it has 16 GB internal storage with 128 GB microSD card supported for further memory expansion.

Acer Liquid Z5 with 5" display announced

Acer has announced the Liquid Z5, which is the successor of Liquid Z3. The device comes with bigger screen but with the same processing power.



The Acer Liquid Z5 is powered by 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor with 512 MB RAM. Nothing much changes from the Liquid Z3 but the Z5 has a bigger 5" FWVGA display.

Acer Malaysia introduces the Liquid S1, Liquid E2 and Liquid Z3 in Malaysia

Acer Malaysia finally bring three new Liquid series smartphones to Malaysia - Liquid S1, Liquid E1 and Liquid Z3. These three devices will hit the shores start from 1st of November.

Acer Liquid S1

The Acer Liquid S1 is Acer's latest flagship device, it is priced at RM 1,299. The phablet has a 5.7" HD display which is same size as the Galaxy Note 3. It is powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor with 1 GB of RAM. Other specs include 8 MP camera, 8 GB expandable memory, 2,400 mAh battery and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Acer Liquid S2 is the first 4K-capable smartphone

We thought that the Sony Xperia Z1 will be the first smartphone with 4K video recording but it seems that Acer has jumped the gun announcing the first smartphone with 4K video recording support - the Liquid S2.

[Computex 2013] Acer announced first 8" Windows 8 tablet: Acer Iconia W3

Acer not only announced their phablet on Computex 2013, they also announced the first 8" Windows 8 tablet - Acer Iconia W3.


The Acer Iconia W3 has a 8.1" 800 x 1280 resolution display. It is powered by Intel Atom Z2760 processor with internal storage 32 GB and 64 GB variants. It features 2 MP front and back camera, micro HDMI out, micro USB port, microSD card slot and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n.

The Iconia W3 runs on Windows 8 and Acer is really touting the Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 suite that is included out of the box.

[Computex 2013] Acer announced new 5.7" phablet: Acer Liquid S1

It's a phablet wars, currently Samsung, Huawei, LG and Lenovo have announced their phablet. There's also a rumor saying that HTC, Nokia and Sony are working for their phablet. Before that, it seems like Acer also taking part the phablet wars. Acer has just announced Liquid S1, it is a 5.7" phablet which is larger than Note II.

The Liquid S1 has a 5.7" 720p HD TFT display, it is Acer first smartphone that has larger display than 5". The phablet is bound for Asia and Europe, this means that Malaysia will be getting it soon. The Acer Liquid S1 available for single-SIM and dual-SIM variants.

The Liquid S1 is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor with 1 GB of RAM. It is also running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with stock Android experience. The phablet has a 8 GB internal storage with microSD card slot up to 32 GB.

Acer Iconia A1 tablet goes official head to head with iPad mini, Nexus 7 and Galaxy Note 8.0

Previously I've posted that the Acer Iconia A1 tablet leaked online. Today, it finally goes official with a cheaper price but good specs.

The Iconia A1 tablet has a 7.9" LED IPS display with the same resolution (1024 x 768 pixels) as iPad mini and a 4:3 aspect ratio. The tablet sports a quad-core CPU but the RAM still unknown (most probably to be 1 GB of RAM).

Acer Iconia A1-810 comes with quad-core processor, a budget tablet

French retailer Rue du Commerce is taking orders for a new Acer tablet - Iconia A1-810. It is still a unannounced tablet that featuring with some good specs.



Although the information of this tablet from Rue du Commerce have been deleted, but the images and specs about it have been recorded by some website.

The Iconia A1-810 has a 7.9" (1024x768 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8125 ARM Cortex-A9 processor with 1GB of RAM. The tablet has 16GB internal storage and support micro-SD card slot.

Iconia A1-810 also packs a 5MP camera and VGA front-facing camera. The tablet reportedly gets up to 7 hours of battery life thanks to a 3250mAh battery. It is also running on latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The Iconia A1-810 is selling for €199 in France, it is cheaper than iPad mini which is priced at €339 in that country. The Iconia A1-810 is a challenging tablet between Nexus 7 and iPad mini. Unfortunately, there's still no information about pricing and availability of it in Malaysia, but expected it will be available soon once it is official.

First Intel Inside smartphone Acer Liquid C1 is available in Malaysia now with price RM 999

The Acer Liquid C1 is finally available in Malaysia now. With it cheap price at RM 999, I'm sure this could be a suitable phone for those people who really looking for a phone that price lower than RM 1,000.



The Acer Liquid C1 is the first Intel Inside smartphone in Malaysia, it is powered by 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor and sports a 4.3" qHD IPS (960x540 pixels) display. With this cheap price, the Liquid C1 will only having 4GB internal memory but it has 1GB of RAM and there's micro-SD card slot too.

Acer Iconia Tab B1-A71 available in Malaysia for RM 399

Think that the Asus Memo Pad are still out of your budget? Never mind, the Acer Iconia Tab B1-A71 are now available in Malaysia for only RM 399.



The Acer Iconia Tab B1-A71 only offer for Wi-Fi version, so far there are no news that Acer are going to launching 3G version of it. The tablet has a 7" (1024 x 600 pixels) display at 170ppi. It is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core MTK 8317T chipset with 512MB of RAM. It's only available in 8GB version in Malaysia but there's micro-SD slot that support up to 32GB.

Acer Liquid C1 releasing soon in Malaysia, first Intel Atom-based smartphone in Malaysia, Liquid Z120 priced at RM399



This might not be the first Intel Atom-based smartphone in the world, but I can say it is the first Intel Atom-based smartphone in Malaysia.

The Acer Liquid C1 is releasing soon in Malaysia, it will be available in Malaysia in March. The Liquid C1 is powered by Intel Atom Z2420- codenamed "Lexington", which was announced at CES 2013. The processor are clocked at 1.2 GHz single-core processor, and it has 400 MHz PowerVR SGX540 GPU. The phone are just 10 mm thin and it has 4 GB internal memory that support micro-SD card up to 32 GB.
