Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 brings LTE to entry-level smartphone

Qualcomm unveiled the new processor for budget smartphones. The Snapdragon 210 which manufactured on a 28 nm process is aim to bring LTE capabilities to sub-USD $100 (RM 320) smartphone.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 features:
- 720p display
- 1.1 GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU
- Integrated 4G LTE with speeds up to 150 Mbps
- NFC support
- LTE-Advanced Carrier Aggregation up to 20 MHz (2 x 10 MHz)
- Broad selection of RF options, support for Qualcomm RF360 CMOS PA, antenna switch, antenna matching tuner, and power tracker

Ninetology and Qualcomm AirAsia aircraft livery marking an ASEAN wide expansion initiative

Ninetology has announced RM 180 million in revenue with 12% mobile device market share in Malaysia as of December 2013.



The company established its revenue target of RM380 million by the end of 2014, projected from its expansion plans into Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, as presented by Sean Ng, Chief Executive Officer of Ninetology ASEAN.

Qualcomm announces new 64-bit Snapdragon 810 and Snapdragon 808

Qualcomm has unveiled two new chipsets - Snapdragon 810 and Snapdragon 808. Both have 64-bit processors and use ARM Cortex A5x CPU cores instead of Qualcomm-designed Kraits. They leverage the big.LITTLE architecture, similar to the Samsung Exynos quad and hexa-core chipsets.



The Snapdragon 810 is the latest high-end chipset. It features four Cortex-A57 and four Cortex-A53 processor cores. The power consumption will probably actually be even as the 20% difference will be offset by the use of a 20 nm manufacturing process, instead of 28 nm.

[MWC 2014] Qualcomm announces Snapdragon 801, 610 and 615

Qualcomm has announced a trio of SoC in MWC 2014. The first one is the Snapdragon 801, which found on the Xperia Z2 and Galaxy S5.



The Snapdragon 801 is just a minor update to the Snapdragon 800, however the CPU clock speed has been upgraded to 2.5 GHz and the GPU speed has upgraded to 578 MHz from 450 MHz.

The new Snapdragon 801 also adds support for the eMMC 5.0 standard, which allows the use of faster embedded flash storage, such as the new SanDisk iNAND Extreme.

Qualcomm announces Snapdragon 410, an entry-level 64-bit processor

Qualcomm  has announced the high-end Snapdragon 805 processor last month, and it's time to introduce their very first 64-bit processor - the Snapdragon 410. Although the Snapdragon 410 is a 64-bit SoC, but it is not a high-end powerhouse, it is designed for entry-level devices.



The Snapdragon 410 integrates with 4G LTE and 3G cellular connectivity for all major modes and frequency bands across the globe and include support for Dual and Triple SIM. The chipset also comes with Adreno 306 GPU which is faster than the Adreno 305 GPU.

Qualcomm announces new Snapdragon 805 processor with Adreno 420 GPU

Qualcomm has announced the new generation Snapdragon 805 chipset with faster 2.5 GHz quad-core processor and 4K graphics. The Snapdragon 805 is able to support 4K display in addition to the 4K video recording which is already available in Snapdragon 800.

The Snapdragon 805 features a new Adreno 420 GPU, which has 40% more processing power than the previous generation Adreno 330 chips.
